How to Spot the Enemy’s Lies
All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal. – Psalm 119:160
The American Banking Association once sponsored a two-week training program to help tellers detect counterfeit bills.
The program was unique – never during the two-week training did the tellers even look at a counterfeit bill, nor did they listen to any lectures concerning the characteristics of counterfeit bills… All they did for two weeks was handle authentic currency, hour after hour and day after day, until they were so familiar with the truth that they could not possibly be fooled by the false.
Lies accompany every temptation that comes your way. They’re the sugar Satan sprinkles on sin to make it look sweet. But you don’t learn to spot the lie by growing more acquainted with the sin – you learn to spot the lie by growing more acquainted with the truth.
God’s Word is your divine source of truth. And like the bank tellers, you’ll have no problem spotting counterfeit truth when you spend time with the real thing.
Prayer Challenge:
Ask God to open the eyes of your heart to the truth of His Word. Pray that He’ll equip you to distinguish His truth from the lies of the enemy.
Questions for Thought:
What are some lies the enemy has tried to sell you in the past?
What does the truth of God’s Word say about them?
One of the lies I’ve thought of/perceived in my late teens Maggie, was that, if I do good deeds, I get to heaven with GOD. Months later, I learned deeper on the meaning of grace, the sacrifice of Jesus in calvary on the cross, and salvation. Thank you for your post.

God’s Truth always sinks into our voids, always in the right places, in His Time. God bless you.

This message reminds me of the image/picture that’s been floating around a while now of sugar coating the gospel..(https://www.123rf.com/photo_16949184_sugar-lips.html)

Yep. I saw a message the other day: How can we be the salt of the earth when we keep sugar-coating the gospel?

Right now! The enemy is telling us that all of this is NOT ENOUGH! But GOD’S word says that HIS love, grace and mercy is immeasurable and abundant and wonderful and good. I try to remind myself every day……GOD is so good and good all the time! Take care of yourself dear Kathy…..I hope you and your family are all ok.. PSALM 91!!!!

The enemy tries to make me think the lies he is telling me are my own valid thoughts. For example, he says, “God isn’t leading you to write your blog. It’s all in your head!” But God’s Word promises He will lead me and direct me in the way I should go. I love the story about training the tellers. What a great comparison. Thanks for sharing a great post. Blessings, Kathy!
