Know Thyself?

KnowThyself

My thanks to Nancy for her comment after our Sunday sermon (Attributes of God series). She thanked the pastor and said something to the effect, “We need to know God more. The more we know God, the more we know ourselves.”

That stuck with me. HOW TRUE!

God created us. Who knows us better than God? If we want to know how we work, if we want to understand what makes us tick, KNOW GOD!

Put away all the self-help books, the worldly counseling tapes and series, the wisdom of the people, and look to God. Read His Word. He will give you understanding. He will guide you with words of wisdom and lead you in straight paths.

He will show you who you are. He will show you Who He is. And He will show you the right relationship between the two of you, and between all His other children.

  1. Have Your way Lord!! Stir an awakening in the hearts of Your people Lord, that they’ll begin to see You high and lifted up and come running to You with their whole hearts…

  2. I heard a gospel artist make a comment a few days ago that was very profound. He said of God in reference to his wife that, “When he loves God more than his wife, He can love her right….I believe this fall under the umbrella of your message of what we truly experience when we begin seeking God more intimately!! There’s a wisdom that He gives that transcends anything we’ve ever known and it ushers us into complete life-changing newness!!

    1. So true: when we seek God first, put Him first, all else becomes right as we become right in His eyes.
Mt 6.33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you
